The Coach & Chassis
- 2006 Winnebago Outlook 31C. This is the successor model of the Minnie, the most successfull class C motorhome in the US.
- It's 31 feet long and will thus fit on practically any site / campground. We haven't found a campground where we couldn't get in yet anyway. No pull-through sites are necessary (which often cost extra).
- The coach is built on a Ford E-450 Super Duty chassis. The most popular chassis for class C motorhomes. It is a V10 with 305 horsepowers that will bring you up any mountain in the US without a problem (we just crossed a 11'000 ft pass today)
- The chassis is extremely clean and so is the engine. It hardly uses any oil. We check almost every morning and have now driven 4000 miles without having to add oil yet.
- The fuel consumption is around 8 miles per gallon, depending on how you drive it (you will learn how to get it above this actually). This is pretty standard for class C motorhomes.

- Fiber glass roof (much better than rubber roofs which most other RVs have) in mint condition. Resealed in 2011.
- Bunk bed over drivers cabin easily sleeping three kids or two adults
- Walk around queen size bed in the back with lot's of storage space (especially the big under bed storage is extremely convenient)
- 15(!?) electrical outlets. Virtually two in every thinkable corner of the RV. A total of four 12V outlets allowing to recharge GPS, mobile phones and the like from the house battery, even when not hooked up to external electricity (very convenient when camping selv contained).

Papers
With the vehicle you get papers neatly organized in a folder, documenting the chassis, the box, all appliances, the history of the vehicle and receipts for the services that were done.
All diagrams (plumbing & wiring) and the operators manual are available.
The multi-state vehicle history report is clean as a whistle (will be provided upon request).

History: Three owners
The RV has had 2 owners before us. We bought it from a retired couple in April 2012 who had the motorhome since 2007 and put only 8.500 miles on it. Before them the vehicle had been owned by a family who did about 12.000 miles in two years.
Condition: Very Good
As you can see in the pictures, our Outlook is in superb condition. The inside looks practically like new (the oven was for instance never used by the previous owners and the stove only for boiling water). We have had a mechanic, an RV salesman and a licensed RV service professional (previously working for Winnebago) look at it in order to determine its value and to ensure we weren't buying a lemon. Everybody agreed that it is a "very clean coach". The outside is also in a very good condition. Of course there are a few dents & scratches and the sun has taken its toll and faded some of the outdoor features a bit. All in all the coach is prabably amongst the top 10% of RVs its age. Several people have asked us "Is it new?".
Lot's of Storage Space
Winnebago has done a really good job in providing storage wherever possible. You wouldn't believe how much you can fit in this motorhome - both in- and outdoors.
Winnebago, the Mercedes Benz of motorhomes
We specifically choose a Winnebago to be able to sell it again. I won't mention all the brands that we outruled immediately because they just cause to many problems and will be hard to sell at the end of the trip. Winnebago is the so-called Mercedes Benz of the motorhomes. And there is a reason for it. Everything works. A lot of though and know how has been put into its layout and floor plan. It will keep its value for a long time. It is definitely a coach that will depreciate much less in value compared to most others - in case you want to sell it again. If you decide to keep if for longer, it's a coach you will enjoy for many years to come.
All the interior is massive oak rather than plywood for instance.
Reason for selling: End of Road Trip
We are a family with two kids that is traveling from east coast to west coast between April and August 2012. Instead of renting an RV, which seemed very expensive no matter where we shopped, we decided to buy an RV and then sell it again towards the end of our trip.
The New Owners
We consider our motorhome perfect for a family with up to three or possibly even four kids or full timers that want all the luxury without the price of a class A coach.
Also the many safety features of the coach make it perfect for a family.
Registering and insuring the vehicle (for foreigners)
Registering a vehicle (no matter whether it's a motorcycle, a car or an RV) as a foreigner in the US is not trivial. In many states it's not possible at all. Others will charge sales tax, require a local address, an inspection or similar. We have been through all this and can help you. We will also assist you in finding the right insurance.
Location: Anywhere out west
Our itinerary isn't set in stone yet. The last two months we will be traveling somewhere between Seattle, Yellowstone, Dallas and San Diego and can thus sell the RV any of those places. A serious buyer will have the opportunity to select the location.

When we looked last (June 2012) the
cheapest 2006 Winnebago Outlook 31C I found cost $49.995. And most of them had more miles than our baby.
We are selling our Outlook for just $39.500. Due to the already low price there is only little room for negotation, sorry folks.
